Aromantic

Some of you regular readers probably remembers that I am Asexual. Since I realized that I was Asexual I have always thought that my romantic orientation was Biromantic (Kind of like a default setting), since I can get strong feelings for both guys and girls.

Lately (some month’s ago) I started to think about it and I noticed that the feelings I have or have had towards people I date or have dated or I liked without them knowing it, is pretty much the same feelings as I feel for my closest friends. I started to look up Aromantic and other romantic orientations but fast thought that it was ridiculous that I could be Aromantic, and I didn’t find anything else that really matched.

Later on I started to search on Aromantic again, it was just something that bugged me and I had to really research it. Soon I found out that Aromantic people often gets stronger relationships towards their friends, and some of them likes to cuddle with their friends, which pretty much fits in on me. Soon after that I had completely realized that I probably are an Aromantic Asexual.

So for the moment I am thinking of myself as Asexual Aromantic. It might change in the future since I notice new things about myself all the time. Maybe I’m actually sexual but haven’t found the right person yet…. … *Tries not to laugh at that ridiculous statement*

So yeah, I just thought I should make a report over my sexual realization journey! Today I actually realized that if people had told me from the beginning that there were more than Heterosexual, Bisexual and homosexual then I might have been able to skip all that confusion about my sexuality throughout puberty! Thanks society!

On other news, I have now gotten tumblr. I will post shorter posts there and a bit more actively. On this page I write more lengthy posts with more thoughts about everything while there I will mostly talk about things in a couple of paragraphs. So if you’re interested in following me then check my tumblr. So far there is nothing of interest on it, but there probably will be in the future. I will also answer questions on it if someone is interested enough to ask.

I think that was all for today. Goodnight my fellow humans.

Gender equality

Sometimes now and then when I hear people speak about equality I hear them take up women rights. We can’t deny that women have less rights in some issues, but that’s not the whole problem. Men also have less rights in some issues and are treated worse in some circumstances. Instead of focusing on only women rights or only men’s rights maybe we should focus on human rights.

Maybe I am stepping on dangerous ground when I talk about this, but that doesn’t mean that the problem shouldn’t be discussed. We are all humans and should be treated as humans. A girl shouldn’t be treated differently from a guy only because she is a girl, just like a guy shouldn’t be treated differently just because he is a guy.

One example where the two genders are treated very differently is when it comes to homosexuality. When people speak about homosexuality they mostly speak about males. In some African countries where homosexuality is illegal, men will get harsher punishments than women. In some African countries it’s even legal for a female to be homosexual when its illegal for a male in the exact same country. It seems that it is much worse to be a male homosexual than a female homosexual.

Here in Sweden we have it pretty good with the equality, but just as any other country we have places where it doesn’t work even though we are trying. The problem with Sweden is often that we are thinking too much about not being racists and too much about not being sexists. Instead of making us an equal country we are making ourselves into a stupid country. This is why:

A while ago I heard a story from one of my friends. She likes politics and often goes to different groups to talk or work with political things. Now I don’t remember the story correctly and I don’t remember where she were or what the work was. But there was one place she went to for a political thing where they wanted to be equal, so they employed people so it would be around 50/50 females and males. This sound like an awesome idea, but in reality it wasn’t. One of the females that worked there that my friend met didn’t do her job, and didn’t seem to have any idea what her job even was.

Equality is good, but that doesn’t mean that you have to have 50 % females and 50% males on a workplace. You should employ the people that are good at the job and can do their job, even if that gives you 70 % males and 30% females. The only way for us to actually make sure that it becomes fifty fifty is if in every classroom there is fifty percent females and fifty percent males that learns exactly the same things and wants to get exactly the same jobs. There might not be that many girls that wants to be plumbers and that’s why more men takes that education. So some jobs will have more men than females and some jobs will have more females than males. It doesn’t mean the workplace doesn’t treat their workers equally or refrain from taking in women.

So when is a workplace un-equal?
When the person that employs people actually care more about the gender and actually tries to only take in people from one specific gender. The only way we would know if some workplace actually prefers to take in a certain gender would be if we actually got to look at the applications and see if someone that wasn’t employed actually would have been better fitted for the job than someone else.

Also we can see it on the way women and men are treated. A woman that works exactly the same hours, have worked the same amount of years and works exactly as hard as her co-worker that is a man should have the same pay as him. If they don’t get the same pay even though they started working at the same time and have the same amount of hours then they aren’t treated as equals.

It doesn’t matter if it’s men or women that are mistreated, both genders matters and they should be treated equally. We aren’t men and women, we are humans, we are people, and we should be treated as that. Instead of treating a woman one way and a man another, treat them as humans. Don’t hold the door open only for the woman that walks a bit behind you, hold it up for the human that walks a bit behind you. Can’t hit a woman? Why isn’t it, can’t hit a human? If someone hits you, it doesn’t matter if its a woman or a man, you have the right to hit back. Or you could be the better person and not hit at all. But don’t stop yourself from hitting just because its a woman, and don’t hit the person just because it is a man. Either you decide, if someone hits me, then I have a right to hit back. Or you decide, if someone hits me, whatever gender that person has, I won’t hit back.

Stop thinking gender, start thinking human!

Probably the most normal dream I have ever had

I promise, I had plans on writing a lot during this week. Mostly about people I can’t stand… Which is pretty much the whole humanity. But my body decided that it wanted attention. So on the first day of menstruation I got so severe menstruation cramps so I could barely stand and I started crying totally randomly. When I went out for a walk when the pain had taken a break I almost fainted because the pain suddenly shocked me halfway on my walk. This happened during Monday and the pain is still not gone even though my period is.

So I shall call a doctor today and ask if he thinks it can be something serious or if I should wait until next month and see if I get as bad cramps then.

It might take some days before I post some really thought out post again, but trust me, I have a lot of ideas written down.

But now to the reason I am here. I had a fun and crazy dream tonight that I wanted to post so that I won’t forget it and so my friend that was in it can read it.

___

I dreamed that me and my friend Sara had started in a new school. We were very popular and everyone wanted us to join their house. Everyone lived in the school and there were different houses you could live in. The house everyone disliked was the yellow house and that was were we decided to go.

The yellow house decided to welcome us big times on a school event and made a really big musical thing. At that time we hadn’t sat ourselves on the yellow seats in the front nor had we put on our yellow shirts that would show our house, so no one knew which house we belonged to. I told Sara that we should sit on the floor for now, and that was because from there we had a better view, but also because I was a bit pissed off about not knowing they were making such an awesome musical and not letting me be in it. Seriously, if you are going to give me a musical in welcome present then let me be in it, that would be so much more awesome 😦

So the yellow house was a bit sad that we weren’t sitting in our seats and thought that we might have second thoughts about joining them. But they continued the play and we watched. And towards the end I told Sara that we should get to our seats instead. She wondered if it was okay since we hadn’t really joined them yet and still were thinking about which house to go to. But we ended up in the yellow seats anyway. (Why is she following me like a puppy anyway? O.o She would never do that xD ahaha)

So as we took our seats everyone in the audience started to do sounds, the yellow group made small sounds of happiness and the rest made sounds of disappointment. So after the performance was over I decided to yell a bit at the big boss in the yellow house that had done the whole thing without including me. So she promised that I would get to be in the next one xD. By the way, the reason we decided that we probably would join the yellow house was because they were the only house that actually had activities like music, musicals, theater, and all that. And for Sara I guess it was because every other house was filled with idiots. xD It was like five houses with different colors that all was filled with slytherin students.

After that we went back to the house, their house was of course the least pompous of all. They simply had some cabins at a lake. While the other houses was a bit more luxurious  I never got to see them in my dream, but they had all much more land (which I saw on a map) and they were too snobbish to ever live in a cabin xD.

We went out with the boat at some point which randomly started taking in water, just to show how poor their house was. But somehow we made it back into land before we sank. Some people from the other houses started to talk to us and told us not to hang around those idiots and come to their house instead. That made me angry and I yelled at them. (Pff, as if I would ever dare)

Later on some people from other houses started to discuss a plan to kidnap Sara and me to their house… Luckily I woke up before they had the chance to do it xD But it had been a fun adventure :3

Where can we have privacy if not in our home?

Less than a month ago I noticed an article in a Swedish newspaper that made me rage. The reason was both the article itself, the sexism against men and because I thought that Sweden was above Americas level of suing people for meaningless things.

A 50 year old man walked around naked in his own house, also take notice that this man had a hedge outside his house so someone that just passes by would probably not see that clearly if they didn’t take a good look. But, a 30 year old woman passes by and sees this naked man in his home.

In a normal case in Sweden the story would end right there. She would turn her head and go away, pretending that she hadn’t seen anything. There was a hedge in the way, I don’t know how high it was but the paper says that it conceals some of the view. With other words, for her to see this man completely naked, she must have looked over the edge with her own free will, on his property.

So in this case the woman goes to her husband and comes back another time to the house, with her husband and records the naked man going around in his own house, on his own property, with a hedge in the way for others praying eyes.  And not only do they film it once, but twice.

This woman then goes to the police and says that this man sexually harassed her even though she didn’t know if he even saw her. She wanted compensation on 9000 crown’s (1350 USD) because she had seen him naked.

In the end he didn’t have to pay her anything.

____

So this man walked around naked in his own home, with a hedge in the way. He didn’t have any intentions of showing himself to anyone, and he simply felt like dressing (or not dressing) as he wanted to in his own house when no one was there. He didn’t do anything wrong.

She on the other hand looked into his house on more than one occasion, which I don’t really see as a crime, but a bit creepy. She and her husband started to record into his house, over the hedge to get proof of him going around naked. Ever heard of privacy?

Why not go to his house, knock on the door, tell him “hey, I’m sorry I saw you naked yesterday. Could you put on a robe at least?” Not even that would be okay, but more okay than filming an innocent man that likes going around naked in the morning.

If that had been a woman and a man had seen her and then filmed her to show in court. Then she would have been freed and right afterwards sued him for sexually harassment by filming her. No one would let a man do such a thing but apparently it’s totally fine if a woman does it. Why?

I have a very neutral look at genders, I think both gender should be seen as equals and only the individuals personality and skills should be judged. If they say that it would be wrong for a man to record a woman in this same scenario but the woman was justified because the man showed himself naked, then there’s something wrong. Either both is wrong or both is right and I can only see it as both is wrong. Women shouldn’t have more rights than men in certain questions like who shall have the right to the baby or if they become a rape victim. Men shouldn’t have more rights than women in certain questions like salary and jobs. We should get a job for our skills, we should take care of our children equally even if we have split up, we should get equal salary for the same job and rape is rape it doesn’t matter if its on a woman or a man.

Stop right now humanity! Stop this ridiculous suing for nothing! Stop this meaningless gender wars of who is more oppressed than the other! Just stop it!

I think that if we just stop looking at genders and just see people, persons, individuals, then the world will become a better place.

Here you can find the article if you know Swedish!

The journey

Hey :3
Sorry that I haven’t updated for some time ^^’ Bad me!

Today I sat down and read my Swedish speech ( That I put up last year) and I decided to write it into English so you guys could read it ^^ I think it was much better in Swedish than in English since I couldn’t find words that fitted with what I had originally written in Swedish. But it wasn’t too bad so I will still put it up 😉

This was written in my second year of high school. It was a oral test so I didn’t say it exactly as it was written. I got an A on the test 🙂
The theme we were going to write about was ‘a journey’

Here it is:
”I am going to talk about the biggest journey we will ever do, the journey some long for and others fear. The one no one can avoid to do at some point of their existence. Its either our last journey or it will be a continuation on the journey we have already started. Maybe that’s when the real journey starts. I shall talk about the journey from life to death.

Many of us fear death, even though its something we can’t avoid. We probably fear it since we don’t know what will happen after we died, humans often fear what they don’t understand. There’s probably a lot of people that sees death as the last journey, when you die you will never wake up again. You will disappear into a vacuum of nothingness without memories, feelings or a soul. Everything just disappears. This is of course a scary thought for many, that everything will just end. Because if we just cease to exist without having known about our existence in life, what did we then live for? Doesn’t that make life meaningless?

But what if death only is the beginning of our journey, or the continuation of the journey we already started when we were born?

I have read a book written by Gabrielle Zevin that’s named Elsewhere. It’s about 15 year old Liz whom dies in an accident. She wakes up in ‘the afterlife’ where everyone ages backwards starting from the age they died. When they have reached the age of a newborn again they are sent back to the world of the living without any memories of their previous life.
I think this is a very interesting way to look at it, because if it were like that then we would be living in a circle that would never end. Which would mean that the journey would never end and there would never be anything to fear. Some people might fear death their whole life but then realize that all the energy they put on fear was wasted since there was nothing to be afraid of.

All of us have different opinions about what will happen after death, but everyone of us can probably agree that it is a journey we all must experience. The journey can be beautiful, but also horrible, which makes me think about this picture from Crysis 2 (shows a picture)
New York is destroyed and in ruins, one can assume that many people have died, but even though it is so sad and brutal there is still something beautiful in this picture. Despite the devastation this picture still makes me feel calm and peaceful. Maybe death is like that, even though it seems horrible for the rest of the world it might be peaceful and beautiful for the dead person.

But the only way of really knowing is die yourself. But that doesn’t mean that we should throw ourselves head first from a cliff because we are curious. Death is something that will come to us all eventually, and we should live our life’s happily until that day comes. Because if death would be the end of our journey, if our existence would be erased, then shouldn’t we have done something with our life’s that we can be proud over, so that we don’t have to lie on our deathbed with regrets? “

This was the picture I used in the presentation:

PE everyday? Can’t beans be brown?

STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP!!!

Sweden has become such a crybaby! We always complain even though we have a pretty good system. Nothing is perfect and you can’t make it perfect. NOT EVER. As fast as you have fixed everything that is bad you will just come up with something else that is in need of being fixed. And sometimes its things that isn’t a problem at all.

One example:
In Sweden we have brown beans that we have named bruna bönor (brown beans). Logical!
But now they think that it is racist to say brown beans so brown beans will now be named beans!

WHY???? THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT ARE OFFENDED IS THE WHITE SWEDISH PEOPLE… The immigrants in Sweden doesn’t even care about this kind of things… Brown is a f*cking color. In that case we should take away every color that is brown, red, white beige or yellow since all of them can be racist colors cause they are all skin colors. GIVE IT UP SWEDEN!!!

But that wasn’t what I were going to talk about. The real topic is what I read in the newspaper today.

Gym class

In Sweden we have around one or two PE lessons every week depending on which school we are in. And everyone knows that you can’t only move around two times a week, you have to move around at least 30 minutes every day.

So today when I read the newspaper there was an article about PE teachers complaining on how few PE lessons we have. And I agree that we should have more than one lesson every week. Two or three lessons would probably be good, but not more than three and not less than two. At least that’s my opinion.

But they said that we should have 60 minutes PE everyday in our schools. They had a good argument for it, you think better during the day if you have worked out. But there are also a lot of things that can and will be bad PE EVERYDAY!

Here’s a small list:

  1. Bullying – Some people that aren’t good at sports, or are fat, are often bullied during PE lessons. Being chosen last in games like soccer and sometimes have to sit at the bench a whole match because the teacher isn’t paying attention to who has been in and not. If this happened every day, how would those people feel?
  2. Skipping lessons – People that doesn’t like sports or have a hard time with sports sometimes decides to not go to the lessons. If they would have PE everyday then its most likely that they will show up even less because once a week is already more than they are comfortable with.
  3. Time – Some people can’t handle having PE lessons just when they have gotten out of bed, so if they have it the first thing in the morning they might think about skipping because they are too tired to do it. If they have it as the last lesson before lunch some might skip because they are too hungry. If it is the last lesson at the day they might be too tired after a long day in school to be able to go through the PE lesson. If every class are going to have PE everyday, then some classes will get to have it on very bad times and some students will not show up. Of course this is already happening some classes in every school even though its only one or two lessons a week.
  4. After school activities – If people are sporting after school then it can become too much after some time to first have PE during the day then in the evening go and have soccer training for some hours. Some might enjoy it while others may quit their after school activity because it becomes too much.

Of course these kind of things are different for everyone, every person have different needs. Some people prefer a good book while others wants to run after a ball for hours without getting tired.

I think that its better to let the kids do their exercise after school if they want to do it, and not force them to do something they don’t want to do everyday for nine years + high school. For me, PE was torture during my nine first years and I would NEVER have gone to the lessons if it had been more than two times a week.

An argument people have for letting them do this in school is that many kids doesn’t have an after school activity, so they don’t move around as much as they should. Well, educate them and tell them that if they don’t move this much everyday then they will probably become fat diabetic people. Then it will be their fault for not doing anything about it!

Okay, that became too much, I know. What I meant to say was that if we educate them well enough then they will understand what they have to do to stay healthy. And I don’t mean to just say it once, really imprint it into their minds and show them horrible pictures of what they can become and movies about peoples life being ruined by fat and such things. Yes I think that scaring the kids can help a little bit. Not all the way, but a little bit.

So tell me what you think.
Do you think Sweden are lazy as fuck and should have more PE? How much? Two-three times a day or everyday?
Is after school activities enough?
Am I too cold hearted towards the kids?

Now I have not only talked about the small kids, I mean all kids from 1st grade all the way up to high school. And I finished high school just half a year ago so I still remember the pain of PE xD

Now I shall leave you all :3 Hope you enjoyed my ranting. Peace out!

2013

Now we have entered the year 2013 and that means new goals for the new year that I probably won’t be able to keep anyways.

So here goes something:
*Only eat candy/snacks on holidays or less
*Only drink soda on holidays or less
*Exercise more
*Eat more salads and fruits
*Vlog/blog more
*Get a job
*Take up my Japanese studies again

I have already failed the first one, I ate a chocolate when I woke up. xD But first January should be some kind of holiday so I’m excused right? ^^

Now I have to be social with my family. Have a happy 2013.
Gott nytt år 🙂
